Summary: The electromagnetic caliper disc brake is mainly used as a safety braking and positioning braking device in cranes, applied to anti slip hooks of lifting mechanisms, parking positioning of operating mechanisms, and windproof anchoring. Its core advantages are automatic braking when power is cut off, fast electronic control response, and no need for air source.
Core application scenarios of electromagnetic caliper disc brake:
Lifting mechanism braking: used for the main/auxiliary winches. When the power is cut off, the spring force drives the clamp to clamp the brake disc, preventing the heavy object from sliding down (hook slipping), and cooperating with the frequency converter to achieve soft braking deceleration.
Large/small vehicle operation brake: installed at the walking drive end, receiving PLC signals for precise parking positioning, adapting to frequent start stop conditions, and avoiding the problem of rapid wear and tear of traditional block brakes.
Windproof safety braking: Some outdoor cranes use it as an auxiliary windproof device, in conjunction with iron wedges, to quickly lock the wheels in case of sudden power outages or strong winds.
Automation integration requirements: Suitable for modern cranes without compressed air sources but requiring high-frequency electronic control linkage (such as metallurgical and port automation cranes), directly controlled by electrical signals.
Technical adaptation features:
Drive logic: power on release, power off hold (fail safe mode), voltage usually AC380V/50Hz, response speed in milliseconds.
Environmental adaptation: Suitable for temperatures ranging from -25 ℃ to 40 ℃, altitude ≤ 2000m, and no strong corrosive/explosive gas environment;
Good heat dissipation, suitable for continuous operation.
Comparative advantage: Compared to hydraulic push rod brakes, there is no need for a hydraulic station and the pipeline is simple; Compared to QP pneumatic brakes, it does not require an air compression system and has more precise control.
