Summary: Marine band brake assembly for windlass and winch applications. Adjustable braking force, heat-resistant lining. Steel construction, bolt-on installation.
Overview:
The mooring winch band brake is a critical safety component on ships designed to secure the winch drum and hold mooring lines in place. It consists of a friction material band that wraps around the drum and tightens to prevent the drum from rotating, functioning similarly to wrapping a rope around a bollard to hold a load.
Features:
Adopt non-asbestos ceramic fiber brake belt, stable friction coefficient, no damage to the brake wheel and insensitive to water medium and salt spray.
Low running noise, low action impact, long life, relatively low operating and maintenance costs.
The main swinging hinge point is equipped with self-lubricating bearings, and the action is flexible.
Flexible installation position, easy to use, adjust and maintain.
Adopt pure manual operation method.
Purpose:
The winch brake's primary purpose is to hold loads securely in place, prevent free-spooling, and allow for controlled lowering. It ensures safety by automatically locking the drum when the motor stops, preventing dangerous load roll-back. Common uses include vehicle recovery, boat lifts, and industrial lifting.
