Limit switch

Overview

The limit switch of a bridge crane is a safety device installed at the end of the crane runway and on the main hook to detect the position of the crane's crossbeam, trolley, and main hook, ensuring the safe operation of the bridge crane. And protect the equipment from damage.

Precise application locations

1. Runway end: used to limit the movement range of the crane's crossbeam on the runway. 

2. On the trolley: control the lateral movement limit of the trolley of the crane along the bridge. 

3. On the main hook: used to limit the position of the steel wire rope wrapped around the drum of the lifting mechanism.

Function

1. Prevent the crossbeam, trolley or main hook of crane from exceeding the travel limit;

2. By limiting the range of motion of the crane, limit switches can effectively prevent accidents from occurring;

3. Prevent collisions during the operation of the crane and reduce mechanical wear.

Working principle

Limit switches are usually direct acting travel switches that control the operation of the crane's motor by cutting off or connecting the control circuit, achieving the purpose of stopping or changing the direction of motion.
