Function:
The hydro-generator set is convenient and quick to start and stop, has flexible operation, large output changes, and quick response to load changes. Therefore, in the operation of the power grid, it is mostly used in peak-shaving power stations, so the number of starts and stops is high, and the braking of the unit shutdown is very important.
The brake for a hydro-generator unit (commonly known as the air brake) is an important part of the mechanical braking system of the unit. The system consists of brakes, oil and air pipelines, manual and automatic control devices.

The brakes of each structural form performance indicators have different emphasis, and are used in vertical units, horizontal units, cross-flow units, pumped livestock units, etc., in order to ensure the safety of the unit for full operation, brake selection is particularly important. ZD-L(W) series brakes are suitable for accelerating unit shutdown braking in hydropower stations. The brake has the characteristics of reliable performance, small size and long life.
Operation process:
Firstly, the unit shuts down normally, during the process, due to the large rotational inertia of the rotating parts, in order to avoid the unit running at low speed for a long time, causing friction between the push tile and the mirror plate. The oil film in the interval is destroyed, causing a tile burning accident. When the unit is shut down and the speed drops to the braking speed (30% Ne), low air is put in pressure (0.5Mpa ~ 0.7Mpa) and brake to stop the unit quickly;
Secondly, during the installation or maintenance of the unit, use high-pressure oil to drive. The brake lifts the rotor, transfers the weight of the rotating part of the unit to the cylinder of the brake, and transmits it to the foundation of the machine pit;
Thirdly, when the unit is shut down for a long time and starts up again, use the brake to lift the rotor to re-establish the relationship between the thrust tile and the mirror plate. Oil film (units with high-pressure oil load-reduction devices can omit this function).
