Overview:
     Universal joint is a mechanical transmission component used to connect two shafts on different axes and reliably transmit torque and rotational motion in the presence of angular deviation or spatial displacement.
     Its core value lies in solving the problem of axis misalignment and is widely used in various industrial and vehicle systems.
Main purpose:

    Connecting two axes with different spatial axes: allowing for an angle (usually 5 ° -45 °) between the active and passive axes, achieving continuous rotation and power transmission.
     Compensate for installation errors and operational deviations: adapt to axis deviations caused by manufacturing, assembly, thermal expansion, load deformation, etc.
     Transmitting high torque: Suitable for heavy-duty, high-speed, or impact conditions, some models have a nominal torque of up to thousands of N · m.
     Improve system reliability and lifespan: Reduce vibration and impact damage to bearings and gears through flexible connections.
Typical application scenarios:
1. Automotive transmission system
    The transmission shaft between the gearbox and the drive axle (such as the cross axis universal joint used in rear wheel drive vehicles).
Steering drive axle half shaft, disconnected drive axle and other parts.
2. Metallurgy and Heavy Machinery
    Heavy duty cross shaft universal couplings are widely used in rolling mills for equipment that requires high torque and angular displacement, such as main drives for rolling mills, straightening machines, and continuous casting machines.
3. Construction Machinery
     In equipment such as excavators, loaders, and cranes, the chassis is connected to the upper hydraulic system or working mechanism.
4. Ships and Wind Power
     The intermediate transmission between the main engine and the propeller shaft compensates for the deformation of the ship.
     Connect the gearbox and generator in the wind turbine to cope with tower shaking.
5. General industrial equipment
     Paper machines, printing machines, textile machinery, pumps, fans, compressors, etc. are used to compensate for installation errors and ensure synchronization accuracy.
6. Agriculture and Special Vehicles
     Tractors, combine harvesters, fire trucks, clearing vehicles, etc., drive movable working parts.

1. Nominal torque (Tn)

     The torque value that a coupling can stably transmit for a long time under standard conditions, measured in kN · m or N · m.
     Lightweight models: such as the LQA series, ranging from 220 N · m to 22000 N · m
     Heavy duty models: such as SWZ type, can reach 18-800 kN · m
     Small cross axis type (WS/WSD): 11.2-1120 N · m
2. Allowable speed ([n])
     The maximum allowable safe rotational speed, measured in r/min;
     Closely related to structure, materials, and dynamic balance level; 

     The larger the size, the lower the allowable rotational speed is usually Axis angle (β or α)
     The maximum allowable angle between two axes, measured in degrees (°);
     Single section cross axis type: 10 °~25 ° (some can reach 45 °);
     Ball joint type: ≤ 40 ° (such as WJS type);
     In practical applications, a dual structure is often used to achieve constant speed transmission.
3. Rotation diameter (D)
     The outer diameter of the rotating part of the coupling affects the installation space.
     SWZ type: 160-550 mm
     WSH type: 100-670 mm
     LQA series: 58-250mm
4. Total length and expansion/contraction
     Total length: depends on the structural form (such as BH, BF, WH, etc.);
     Expansion and contraction: SWP-F type can reach up to 150 mm; SWP-FG type up to 600 mm.
