Overview

The pulley system of crane is a fixed structural component composed of fixed pulleys and movable pulleys, which cooperates with the hook system to achieve labor-saving and change the direction of force application.

CTECH machinery Sdn Bhd can produce hoist pulley systems that is made of cast iron, cast steel, or rolled steel.

Specific Application

Crane pulleys are classified into three levels based on their load-bearing capacity:

1. Lightweight: rated load ≤ 5 tons, suitable for storage and logistics equipment (such as stacker trucks), with small wheel diameters to save space.

2. Intermediate: 5 tons<load ≤ 20 tons, commonly used in construction tower cranes, with a 20% increase in wheel width to enhance the stability of wire rope guidance.

3. Heavy duty: Load capacity>20 tons, used for heavy equipment such as port gantry cranes.

Principal technical parameter

1. The load range of the crane pulley system covers 5 tons to 100 tons, corresponding to a weight range of 10.66kg to 1100kg;

2. The diameter of the steel wire rope is suitable for 13.5mm to 24mm, and the number of pulley blocks for the crane is configured as 1-4 pieces.

Note: - Rated load: The H32 × 10 model requires a 6.3 ton load to be used in conjunction with 1.5 times the dynamic coefficient;

          - Ratio of pulley diameter to wire rope diameter: The pulley diameter should be at least 16 times (light grade) to 25 times (heavy grade) the diameter of the wire rope to avoid excessive bending and wear of the rope body.

Practical application cases

1) The movable pulley is applied in the lifting mechanism of bridge crane

2) The fixed pulley is applied in the boom of bridge crane

New pulley installed at 5 hoist used at plastic industry. The existing pulley was worn off due to heavy duty usage.
