Summary: The rail transit unit brake integrates the brake cylinder, lever system, and automatic brake shoe clearance adjuster into one.
When using and maintaining the track unit brake, attention should be paid to air pressure venting, gap adjustment, brake pad inspection, and manual release operation to ensure that the system pressure is normal and the components are not stuck. Maintenance precautions:
1. Safety and protection precautions
Pressure relief and locking: Before disassembling, replacing or repairing the unit brake, the power must be cut off, the compressed air in the brake control unit and related pipelines must be emptied, and iron shoes must be placed or parking brakes must be applied to prevent high-pressure gas from injuring people and causing the vehicle to slip away.
2. Precautions for operation and handling
Automatic gap compensation: Track unit brakes are usually equipped with automatic gap adjustment mechanisms (such as double-sided brake shoe gap adjusters).
Pay attention to observing the brake transmission efficiency and brake cylinder piston stroke during daily operation to avoid compensation errors caused by one-sided eccentric wear.
Emergency brake interlock: In fully automatic unmanned driving or conventional trains, it is necessary to ensure that the air brake of the bogie is not isolated during emergency braking, and it is strictly prohibited to arbitrarily change the electrical interlock protection logic of the brake control unit.
