Summary: The double beam crane coupling mainly adopts flexible coupling, and the core structure consists of two half coupling bodies, connecting elements (such as gear sleeves, column pins or sliders) and sealing/lubrication components, used to connect the motor with the reducer or the reducer with the drum/wheel shaft, transmit torque and compensate for axis deviation.
According to different application scenarios, the main structural forms of double beam crane couplings are as follows:
1. Gear coupling (most commonly used)
Widely used in high-speed shafts of large and small vehicle operating mechanisms and lifting mechanisms, with strong load-bearing capacity and impact resistance.
External gear shaft sleeve: with drum shaped external teeth, usually connected to the drive shaft, and the tooth surface is hardened by heat treatment.
Internal gear ring (outer sleeve): equipped with internal teeth, connected to the driven shaft, allowing for certain radial, axial, and angular displacements.
Sealing components: prevent grease leakage and dust entry. Some new drum couplings include wear indicator rings to monitor tooth surface wear.
Features: Through the meshing of internal and external teeth to transmit force, the drum shaped tooth design can eliminate additional bending moments caused by assembly errors.
2. Elastic column pin coupling
Commonly used in small and medium-sized tonnage or situations requiring buffering and vibration reduction, the structure is simple and easy to maintain.
Half coupling: The two halves are respectively fixed on the driving shaft and the driven shaft, and the end face is provided with bolt holes.
Elastic pin: made of nylon or rubber, inserted into the holes of the two halves of the coupling, transmitting torque and absorbing vibration through elastic deformation.
Retaining ring/nut: fix the column pin to prevent it from falling off in the axial direction.
Characteristics: Elastic components (rubber rings or leather pads) are vulnerable parts that need to be replaced promptly after wear to eliminate vibration.
3. Brake wheel coupling
Often integrated with braking function, directly installed on the braking end of the motor or reducer.
Structural combination: The coupling half body is cast together with the brake wheel or connected by a key.
Connection method: One end is connected to the motor shaft through a key, and the other end is connected to the high-speed shaft of the reducer through a gear or elastic element.
