Installation position and function of the brake wheel core of the drum brake of the bridge crane:
     Lifting mechanism: installed on the high-speed shaft or drum shaft of the reducer, used for precise stopping of lifting, preventing heavy objects from sliding/falling, and maintaining hovering in the air.

     Operating mechanism: installed on the transmission shaft of large or small vehicles, used for equipment start stop control, deceleration positioning, and preventing track sliding.
     Rotary mechanism (if any): installed at the transmission end of the rotary bearing, used for angle positioning and stopping of the arm or upper structure. ‌‌
Mechanism of action and key characteristics:
     Friction pair coordination: The brake wheel rotates with the shaft, and the brake shoe opens outward and presses against its outer cylindrical surface to generate friction torque, consuming kinetic energy to achieve braking.
     Safety redundancy: The normally closed design ensures automatic clamping of the brake wheel in case of power failure, ensuring the safety of heavy objects and equipment fixation in case of emergencies.
     Heat dissipation and wear resistance: As the main body of heat exchange, it is necessary to have sufficient mass and heat dissipation area to cope with the heat generated by frequent start stop and prevent thermal degradation. ‌‌
     In short, the brake wheel is a rotating carrier that connects the braking action and mechanical motion. Without this component, the brake cannot have an actual braking effect on the crane mechanism. ‌‌
