Summary: Belt brakes generate friction by holding the brake drum tightly with the brake band, thereby hindering rotation and achieving braking. Its core utilizes the principle of leverage to tighten flexible belts, which are widely used in equipment such as automotive transmissions and winches.
Friction deceleration: Friction material is applied inside the brake band, wrapped around the rotating brake drum, and tightened to generate friction torque that slows down or stops the drum.
Leverage amplification: By using a lever device to amplify external force, the brake band radially contracts and tightens the brake drum, resulting in stronger braking force as the wrap angle increases.
Automatic brake release: After the external force is released, the return spring pushes the piston back to its original position, restoring the gap between the brake band and the drum, and releasing the brake.

Common types:
Simple formula: One end of the brake band is fixed, and the other end is connected to a lever. The structure is simple, but the braking torque is affected by the direction of rotation.
Differential type: The two ends are connected to levers at different positions, requiring less operating force and commonly used for one-way braking of hand and foot manipulation.
Comprehensive: Tighten both ends simultaneously, with the same braking torque for forward and reverse rotation, suitable for bidirectional rotation situations.
