Core applicable scenarios for brake friction pads produced by CTECH Machinery SDN BHD:
Preferred (heavy-duty/high temperature/frequent braking): Powder metallurgy (sintered friction material). Made by high-temperature sintering of iron-based or copper based powders, with a temperature resistance of over 600 ℃ and extremely strong wear resistance, specially designed for heavy-duty applications such as cranes and construction machinery.
High end preference (extremely low thermal attenuation/long lifespan): ceramic based or carbon/carbon composite materials. The friction coefficient is extremely stable at high temperatures, with no thermal degradation, wear resistance, and minimal wear on mating parts. It is commonly used in special high demand applications.
Key selection criteria:
Working temperature: Frequent starting and stopping of cranes can easily generate high temperatures, and materials with high heat decay temperatures (powder metallurgy>ceramics>semimetals>NAO) need to be selected.
Load level: For heavy loads, powder metallurgy or carbon ceramic must be used; For light loads, NAO or semimetals can be considered.
Dual component protection: Powder metallurgy and semi metal wear brake wheels/discs are faster; Ceramic components have the least wear.
Environment and safety: asbestos must be avoided; When dust control requirements are high, ceramics or NAO are preferred.
