Summary: The electromagnetic failure protection disc brake belongs to the electromagnetic release type. It relies on the force of a disc spring to clamp the brake disc and achieve braking. When power is required, it is released by the matching electrical control box. When power is cut off or there is a fault, it automatically holds the brake, providing safety protection.
The working process of the electromagnetic failure protection brake produced by CTECH Machinery SDN BHD can be summarized as "power on release, power off braking":
When powered on, electromagnetic force overcomes spring force to disengage the braking components, allowing the shaft to rotate freely; When the power is cut off, the electromagnetic force disappears, and the spring pushes the braking component to press the friction surface, achieving braking.
Core workflow:
Power on state (release): The coil is energized to generate a magnetic field, which attracts the armature through the magnetic yoke. The armature compresses the spring and separates from the friction disc, forming a working air gap (usually not exceeding 0.5mm), and the transmission shaft can rotate freely.
Power off state (braking): After the coil is powered off, the magnetic field disappears, and the pre pressure of the spring pushes the armature out, compressing the friction disc and quickly stopping the transmission shaft through friction torque.
Energy Conversion: The braking process converts the kinetic energy of rotating components into thermal energy through friction, achieving rapid parking and safe braking.
