Core Workflow of Gantry Crane Hook

Electrically powered adsorption/hooking: For electromagnetic hooks, electricity generates magnetic attraction; for ordinary hooks, the sling is manually hung to the bottom of the hook and locked.

Lifting/lowering: The electric motor drives the drum to wind or unwind the steel wire rope, causing the hook block to move.

Horizontal movement: The crane and/or trolley moves to transport the load to the destination.

Placing: Cut off the power (electromagnetic hook) or precisely control the descent to place the object at the designated location.

Connecting & Securing:

Hang the load securely on the hook (usually made of high-strength alloy steel) and ensure that the safety lock on the hook is closed to prevent the load from accidentally falling off.

Lifting:

The motor drives the drum to rotate, winding or unwinding the steel wire rope or chain.

By changing the direction and magnitude of force through pulley blocks (on the hook assembly) and fixed pulleys (on the crane), the lifting of loads is achieved, and the mechanical advantage is utilized to reduce the pulling force required for lifting.

Traveling:

After the load is lifted, the trolley and bridge mechanism move along the horizontal track via the driving device, transporting the load to the designated location.

Releasing:

Upon arrival at the destination, the motor stops, the power is cut off, causing the braking system to lock (or the electromagnet to lose its magnetic field), and then the connection is released, allowing the load to be placed.

Safety Features:

Safety lock: The hook opening must be equipped with a locking device to prevent the load from falling off.

Overload protection: The overload limiter detects weight to prevent overload operation.

Limit switch: Prevents the hook or trolley from exceeding the set range (such as vertical overtravel and horizontal limit).

Emergency stop: Quickly cut off all power and stop all actions.
