Summary: The core function of the double beam crane coupling is to connect the motor, reducer, drum/wheel and other transmission shafts, achieve stable transmission of motion and torque, and compensate for axis deviation and buffer vibration impact during operation.
The specific functions are as follows:
Power transmission: Efficiently transmit the rotational motion and torque of the electric motor to the reducer and actuator (such as the drum and wheels), ensuring the normal operation of the lifting and running mechanisms and reducing energy loss.
Compensate for displacement deviation: Absorb the axial, radial, and angular relative displacement between the two shafts caused by installation errors, foundation settlement, or stress deformation, and avoid generating additional stress that may cause bearing wear or shaft damage.
Buffer vibration reduction: Absorbs load impact, reduces transmission system vibration and noise, improves operational stability, and extends equipment life under frequent start stop or heavy load conditions of the crane.
Safety protection: Some elastic couplings can provide a certain buffering protection in case of overload, preventing the transmission chain from breaking due to instantaneous impact and causing serious accidents.
Double beam cranes commonly use gear couplings (with large load-bearing capacity and strong compensation ability) and elastic column pin couplings (with good buffering and simple structure), which need to be regularly inspected for wear.
If the tooth thickness wear exceeds 15% -20% of the original thickness or cracks appear, they should be immediately scrapped.
