Summary: ТКГ (TKG) brake is a type of electro-hydraulic drum brake widely used in heavy-duty industrial applications, such as cranes, hoists, and mining equipment, designed to safely stop and hold machinery shafts in place when the drive is not operating.
Key Components & Operation:
Electro-Hydraulic Thruster: These brakes use an electric-hydraulic thruster (often referred to as a ТЭ / TE pusher) instead of an older solenoid to release the brake.
Braking Mechanism: When the power is turned on, the thruster pushes a lever system to separate the brake shoes from the brake drum, allowing the shaft to spin freely.
When power is cut, a heavy-duty internal spring forces the shoes to clamp down on the drum, stopping the motion.
Brake Pads: The shoes are fitted with friction linings designed to withstand high torque and resist wear over time.
Primary Applications:
Lifting & Transport: Tower cranes, bridge cranes, and winch systems.
Industrial Manufacturing: Found in metallurgical and mining equipment.
Hazardous Environments: Specialized explosion-proof (Ex) versions are used in environments with fire risks.
