Installation of Mechanical Electromagnetic Power-Off Brake
The electromagnetic power-off brake (power-off brake) is a brake that engages through electromagnetic attraction when powered on and adopts friction braking when powered off. It consists of a magnetic yoke, excitation coil, spring, brake disc, armature, spline sleeve, mounting screws, etc.
It is mainly used in conjunction with Y series motors to produce a new type of YEJ series electromagnetic brake three-phase asynchronous motor. It is widely used in metallurgy, construction, chemical industry, food processing, machine tools, packaging, and other machinery to achieve rapid stopping and precise positioning. It can be used for safe (risk-preventive) braking in situations where power is interrupted.
The electromagnetic power-off brake features a compact structure. Despite its small axial size, the brake torque is sufficiently large. It responds quickly.
The electromagnetic power-off brake utilizes a spring device to generate braking torque, with the spring reset time being the braking response time. It has a long service life. The power-off brake adopts new friction materials, which determine its high-life performance.
Installation precautions:
1. The surfaces of the friction plate and armature must be free of oil stains and kept clean;
2. The gear sleeve must not have axial play.
3. After installation, the hollow bolt must be screwed out and locked onto the rear end cover or flange plate of the motor.
